A Chance to Heal, a Path to Nurture, and an Opportunity to Protect
Our Animal Care Internship in Cusco is thoughtfully designed to merge veterinary academic training with hands-on animal welfare experience. We connect classroom knowledge with real-world application by placing interns in clinical and shelter environments where they can contribute to the health and well-being of local animals. Whether you’re assisting in medical procedures, supporting rehabilitation programs, or participating in community education initiatives, you’ll develop essential veterinary skills while learning from experienced professionals in the field of animal care.
Choose your focus area, expand your clinical capabilities, and embark on a journey that combines professional development with compassionate service to our furry friends..

Veterinary

The veterinary project combines clinical veterinary work with canine shelter operations. You will observe and assist one of the veterinarians or assistants at the dog shelter.
You will examine sick and injured animals, assist in various types of surgeries, and help recommend medical treatments. You will learn to use medical instruments and develop recovery programs alongside the veterinarian.
On other days, you will work at the dog shelter, focusing particularly on creating medical and rehabilitation programs for sick and injured dogs.
At the veterinary clinic, you will learn to use instruments and tools, while at the dog shelter you will have the opportunity to put your knowledge into practice and develop specific medical and recovery programs for the animals.
Additionally, this project optionally includes participation in health and sterilization campaigns. These campaigns are directed at the local community, aiming to educate people about dog care and encourage pet sterilization.
